Take note MS, Sony, EA, Activision, et al.; this is how it should be done. Steam and GOG have discovered the secret formula for success (respect for people that buy your products); maybe you guys should consider it at your next board meeting.

Well you can go to Walmart and get Both games already ported to Win 7 on disk for about $20.00 bucks. yeah for Both Fallout and fallout 2, instead of a download you get it on a disk and to me that's a much better deal. I have a Library of games dating back to 1990 and i would rather have the hard copy.
And as to the Response on Steam: But as for Steam and the DRM that stinks, you have to have a online connection with what ever game you have that has Steam, no matter how many times you play the game or how long with a legal copy ( Disk ) and Code that comes with the game. And playing in offline mode you are still connected to Steam to play a game you paid for. They have to watch over your shoulder while you play something you paid for, the whole time you play the Game, Sorry but that's just Lame. And doesn't stop the pirated versions either. I don't associate with other Steam members or care about Stat's much less care about wanting anyone to even know what games i play, I only play Legal games myself. But this Type of business frame work has now stopped me and many of my Friends from buying many games we would have otherwise. DRM is killing many things even Gaming.
Now GOG has been around a while, and has redone themselves to handle newer games, That's Great GOG gets 5 stars from me, But Bethesda and Steam gets 0

why the hell did they even make a link to this in email so late?
everything is just about useless at this juncture.
i have never heard of gog, but it sounds like they will be the ones to use. I don't like Steam or any other DRM-laden crap. I have quit gaming b/c all of the drm hassles -- games I paid for but can't use and having to log in to sites and other crap. maybe gog will renew my interest in gaming and buying games again if I can just enjoy the game.
still irritated that this got advertised in email so damn late.

Yeah just the game is ported to play on the newer Operating Systems like Windows, Vista or even XP using Dosbox, though you could download Dosbox and configure it yourself on each of the old games you want to play, they just did it for you. That's what your really paying for.

More like the hook, line & sinker technique used by blizzard with the original diablo and warcraft series:
"Yeah look at us everyone's charging for their stuff and we're free. Now we're even releasing this new mmorpg game that you've all wanted, based on user feedback, for awhile now. AND we're going to charge you so much we make up for the dividends lost on the first series of free games we used to lure you in."
