Oops! I meant CONSTANTLY shifting.

Hello experts or frustrated individuals like myself!

Anyway, almost each time I insert an image (jpeg) in a text (in this case my 300 page dissertation), all the pre-existing images become misaligned shifted to another page.

For example, the first page looks great with my image and accompanying caption but when I insert another image below it, or even on the next page, everything gets shifted.

I have played with the text formatting, alignment, and positioning features for hours but in vain.

What am I doing wrong?
