. . . . and you run an article like this without links to appropriate response measures (system analysis tools, removal tools, repair tools) because . . . ?

Deliberately misleading title is misleading. I also like how fully half of the article is justification for saying it in the first place.

Because that isn't what this article is about.

That's like complaining that an article about unemployment in the United States because it doesn't also provide the answer to solve unemployment and links to help you find a job, or slamming an article about a 12-car pile-up on the highway because it doesn't also provide in-depth analysis of highway traffic safety data, and a how-to guide for avoiding highway traffic accidents.

Each article has its place. The information you describe is out there in other articles written for those purposes.

"Apple isn’t to blame for the threat. The vulnerability is in Java, not Mac OS X."

Wrong. Apple bundle with Macs its OWN PORT of Java, and it is well Apple which took months to port an existing patch to its OWN PORT of Java...

The article was ridiculous and your response was absurd.
You should be salesman or a politician, anything but a journalist.

I love how all the die hard Apple fanboys come unglued any time something is mentioned... Your Mac is just as vulnerable as any other device out in the world. Until recently, there was not much cause for concern regarding viruses or malware because Apple has a very small percentage of the market and it is not worth the time to try and exploit it. Where 92% of the world (specifically home users) is using some version of Windows, naturally the focus is going to be on Windows. Security by obscurity is nothing more than false security. All it does is make you unprepared for when things do happen.

If Mac isn't the problem, the users are problem to go to compromised websites, not Java . . .

Thank you for the reality check. I have nothing against Mac or Apple, it has it's place in the hierarchy of info tech I suppose. However, I have had first hand experience with people who think it is invulnerable. It simply isn't popular enough to be a profitable target. I am a PC person, I build and maintain my own equipment. Norton 360 is my weapon of choice. Norton also has software available for Mac, that should tell Mac users something.

The reason i read this article was to find an action solution to the problem. This article on main point is to whine about Apple and push a panic button for Mac users. Good job on a half ass article

Hey, "Editor" . . . what a great attitude. First you present a "Java problem" as a "Mac Problem" and then you cop this attitude - "figure it out for your fuc'n selves!" I'll remember to ignore anything else you have to contribute to the web.
Thanks!

well first of all because he isn't your MAC repairman, you can go pay a genius to figure out why in 2012 apple hasn't implemented internal security.
maybe he doesn't know, in the end, a solution is NOT the heart/purpose of this article.

its apples fault that your too cocky about the quality/integrity of your new OS, I hope it trashes 2x more so people can realize the only thing apple had on windows is a joke.
you think its over? 1 successfull spyware/malware/trojan WILL spawn THOUSANDS of other to do the same.

RIP APPLE, Your tiny share of the Computer industry will die @ the ipad once the malware gets to there.
