Awesome article! It's good to see a comprehensive, insightful look into this stuff from security analysts who actually know what they're doing, rather then tech journalists compiling random tech jargon into an article. Thank you for the wonderful article!

Rich you had a great article going right up to the statement that "the future of the platform's security depends a lot on Apple and good old fashioned luck."
Luck - really? You are supposed to be a security guy and you think luck has anything to do with it?
It all comes down to Apple and Apple users doing their due diligence. Apple need to stay on top of updates and Apple users, much like Windows users, need to be aware that they are no longer protected by being the little guy.
Apple, and third party vendors supporting Apple have been pretty lax on security and its catching up. Gatekeeper will help, but much like anything else its going to be largely dependent on the user and their own interactions. Most security researchers are already saying it doesn't do enough to protect users, but that is really a wait and see.
Why you feel the need to throw a jab at Android phones is beyond me. Guess any chance to stick it to Google is the Apple-fanboy coming out.

It is relevant and has nothing to do with Apple Fan Boys:
Google is remotely removing the apps from Android devices. Security experts said phone owners who have downloaded the apps should wipe and “reset” their phones to their original state.
Here are some of the offending apps:
Falling Down
Super Guitar Solo
Super History Eraser
Photo Editor
Super Ringtone Maker
Super Sex Positions
Hot Sexy Videos
Chess
Hilton Sex Sound
Screaming Sexy Japanese Girls
Falling Ball Dodge
Scientific Calculator
Dice Roller
Advanced Currency Converter
App Uninstaller
Funny Paint
Spider Man
That is why Android in mentioned in an article about malware.

This isn't an article about Malware in general its an article about Apple based malware and honestly there isn't any other reference to Android other than the unmitigated totally none-relevant jab. Heck the article isn't even talking about mobile platforms which makes the snip even more ridiculous.
