Upgrade to Windows 7 OR do a real upgrade and move to UBUNTU 12.04!!!!

Dont bother with Windows 7 BASED on the same old insecure Windows NT kernel

Go to Ubuntu 12.04 Amazing safe free OS

No such thing as a secure OS

I don't much understand the hate from those having used Vista (I found it okay) and the preference for Windows 7.

After all, Win 7 is just Vista SP5.

I started out on a machine running Vista and was fortunate enough to be eligible for a free upgrade disk to Win 7. Contrary to popular opinion I didn't find much wrong with Vista and Win 7 is fairly stable. For all the "Misery" of Vista users bruited about I've yet to see any concrete objections. The only objection I had was the introduction of the UAC which under Windows 7 has improved its functionality and user friendliness.

I've been using "the Power of the Internet" for ages to solve most of my computer issues. Learning as I go has always been a practice. This article is a pretty good guide to less experienced users though and a keeper as a resource.

Where to go for help? To a psychiatrist, if somebody is still using Vista.

I never got support from Microsoft anyway - and I'm talking from Windows 3.1 to present day - so, there will probably be those bunches of maludjasted people (I say it fondly) who keep helping everybody in forums all over the net.

The best support for Vista is still Microsoft

Seriously? I've spent more time on the phone trying to get (Enterprise) "support" from Microsoft than I'd ever care to admit, and I can honestly say that I'd rather have every hair on my head plucked one by one with something rusty and dull than call them for desktop support. You'll get more traction from a well formatted Google search.

Come on PCWorld. Stop misleading people. Windows Vista SP2 is currently under the extended support, which won't end until April 11, 2017. Here is the link to Windows Life Cycle: My link. If this kind of support is insufficient in your opinion, give me another example of any software or tech company who supports its product for more than 10 years. I bet Microsoft is the only software company that does this.
