I'm going to go out on a limb and predict Acer will break into the $500 range. (at least that's the price point where I'll get interested!)

yup. Touchscreen tablet and notebook in one....that's what I want. MacBook Air Pro will probably be first on the block.

Well, a lot of them probably are "futuristic", eg. designed for chips after Ivy Bridge. Then there are the fake ultrabooks like the HP 14" behemoth.
I really hope Intel doesn't mess this up. It's ridiculous how broad the definition has become.

If they are priced below 800, they will be competing with high end conventional laptops.
So this could lead to more cheaper conventional laptops too.

On a different note, intel shouldnt shy away from using sandy bridge instead of ivy bridge in hybrid ultrabooks, to keep their price attractive.

Flash memory SSDs need to come down. Should see $1/GB this year.. .
