That is too bad 10.10 was a great run, Disappointed Quanta Plus was not ported to the new Ubuntu.

You forgot simply continuing to use that OS as is. Is something broken still? I don' think so, so why should I move to the Unity crap?

I have 12.04 running on a couple PC's and the first thing I did was go to the software center and install the GNOME desktop environment.. Really its a simple as a couple clicks..

Not a big fan of unity either but I have to say unity in 12.04 is so much better then unity in 11.04 and 11.10

10.10 is my last Ubuntu. I'm moving on.
I may try Mageia or go to Debian.
Its sad because 10.10 is just about the best.
I'd go to 10.04, but thats history too.

I hate Unity and Gnome 3, and XFCE, LXDE are crap.

I am not a sophisticated Linux user. But I treasure the security of Linux for my online banking and credit card transactions.

I installed ZORIN on an old PC that I had hanging around. It is a great distro that non geeks, as I am, can use immediately. It recognized my video and wireless drivers flawlessly.

I like it much better than MINT or UBUNTU.

Why is it to bad, if you like what you have , you don't have to upgrade.

If you don't like the desktop of the new version then use a different desktop.

Just because they make a new version you don't have to upgrade to it either, just stick with what you like to use.

I found unity 2d better than unity 3d, I had bugs and issues with conflicts with unity 3d but unity 2d is solid and stable with no issues.

Incremental update might sound like a good idea until you realise that you will have to download the same package at least three times to get to Precise. Better to bite the bullet at this point. Save all your files make a nice clean install of either Oneiric or Precise beta 2.

If you've become acclimated to a particular distro and it has LTS, there's really no need for you to upgrade just because a new version becomes available. But to each their own.
