I got a new laptop. I'm connected to my wifi. It says my laptop and desktop are joined in the home network. but I can't get the files from my desktop. Is there a magic button I don't know about?

Enable "Sharing" on the computers. You don't mention what OS's are involved, but if both are Win7 it shouldn't be hard. If one is Win7 and the other is an older OS, them there may be some hoops to go thru. Search for 'file sharing' with Win7's Help function... or just Google it.

Do give these a read:

If you still have questions, please post back with your requirements and Windows OS details from both systems.
