I was expecting a strongly biased against Google report, but this is pretty close to good.

The parties in this suit are Google and Oracle, but the man behind the curtain is Microsoft and that's why Oracle bought Sun.

It's not going to end well for Oracle, nor Microsoft. The harm they're claiming is so subjective and intangible that a jury just isn't going to understand it. Nor should they.

"...the man behind the curtain is Microsoft and that's why Oracle bought Sun."

I hadn't heard that conspiracy theory before. 10 points for creativity but minus 100 points for being completely wrong.

Oracle picked up Sun for 2 primary reasons (Java and MySQL) and several secondary reasons (OpenOffice, hardware customized for Oracle products, etc).

MySQL was actually becoming a threat to the insanely priced Oracle DB...even large companies were starting to use the product because it was becoming cheaper to hire a few MySQL experts than to license Oracle DB. By taking over Sun, Oracle is now able to apply their high prices to that product as well, making Oracle DB priced more palatable in comparison (although many companies are starting to eyeball MS SQL Server as a result now).

Java was a pure profit play for Oracle. Oracle has a long history of being one of the most greedy tech companies on the planet. People involved in enterprise solutions have understood this for over a decade and know that Ellison has always been worse than either Gates or Jobs. In addition to this lawsuit which Oracle thinks they can make a bunch of money, they are also playing games with the Java enterprise support model as well.

Gates and Ellison are not friends and have been bitter rivals for decades. Although MS is very happy to have Oracle and Google locked at each other's throats, to suggest MS is operating Oracle behind the scenes is simply pure ignorance.
