Battling?? Poor choice of words PCW.. seriously. Msoft continues to set records in the amount of time it takes to reach milestones in the number of useless apps it can release. I very rarely use the Marketplace for anything other than to download music, and occasionally an app or two. But by far I use WP because it is awesome, and without any glitches, and it "just works".

Microsoft has done a great job of building its app store, but it's still missing a few key apps that many consumers want. It should also be leveraging its Xbox brand more--meaning, Windows Phone should have some exclusive, must-have games that consumers will be willing to switch platforms for. This is one of Microsoft's silver bullets that it hasn't really pulled from its holster yet.

A few key apps really isn't a game breaker to Windows Phone users. Reason being is I personally bought WP when it only had 2,000 apps available, but I bought it because I loved the fluidity of the OS, not based on how many beer drinking games I could install. I've read plenty of Lumia 900 buyers from previous iPhone users say that while the Marketplace is far below the number Apple has in AppStore, Msoft has a lot, not most, but a lot of the important ones. But the one thing people overlook, the same ones Msoft does have, they are BETTER, their words, not mine. Metro overall is just superb for touchbased applications, they just need another year or so to be close to the same level as Android and iOS. Don't forget, Msoft just reached 80,000 apps after being out for 18 months. 18 months ago... Google reached the same milestone, 80,000 apps, and I don't think we need to even go there as far as how bad that environment is..
