Simple answer is NO. I, for one, am not ready to blindly turn over control of all the sensor data that can be harvested to any company simply to 'trust' that they will use it in a responsible manner. Yes, I use the GPS function to guide me into an unknown area and I have occasionally used it to track my distance during a run so track MY progress (not to publish it to the world - although I believe that would be very boring to most). I do NOT need nor desire to have point of sale (or positional targeted advertising) - IF I am interested in a nearby restaurant then I will read their posted menu - otherwise I may bypass them (I will not read an advertisement delivered to my phone - it will be erased before that point). Just MY feelings though...

"A combination of a system like Alohar's and an app like Highlight could tell you how you're connected to the strangers around you (those who also use the same app)." This is called meeting someone.

"For example, by knowing where you drive and also where you tend to buy gas, an app could suggest cheaper gas at stations near the routes you drive on a regular basis." This is called asking someone's advice.

Go ahead Sheeple, let all your personal info hang out there for them to sell. Then if someone gets killed close to a place that you just happened to be near during that time period, the police will be knocking at your door with handcuffs ready. I could give you a thousand "what if's", and every one of them works out against you...
