Horribly misleading article title. It's not a Launch Date...it's the Launch Event Date. The actual phone launch date won't probably be till next year.

I am compelled to agree with you. if they fallow past patterns, next year sounds right.

Let's hope that they make enough profit to re-imburse the hundreds of thousands of defective Samsung TV owners throughout the world whom they refuse to help; let alone their disgraceful air conditioners.

That's nice. If it launches next year, it could be just in time for my 2year contract on S2 to end.

All Android companies need to do to please everyone is

1. Make all Android phones $100 or less and all Tablets $200 or less

2. Only make as many phone and tablet types as you can handle giving two years of updates to.

3. Google doesn't need to make Android close sourced but they need to watch over the Android market more to prevent malware from getting into the market to begin with.

These three things would make Android as secure as iPhone/iPad by not only keeping security fixes and operating system updates up to date for a full 2 years but also prevent malware from getting into the Android devices. Plus it would make Android users feel good by knowing they have a top of the line Android phone without feeling they spent too much.

Android is never gonna win the battle of high end devices. Their bread and butter are the lower end models. Hopefully if the Galaxy S III is released next year it won't try and compete with the iPhone. Samsung would make more money on it making it a $100 phone than a $200-$300 one.
