Absolutely interested in Retina Displays for the Mac. Hoping it hits the MacBook Air, but I understand it being a pro feature. I just think the Air is so portable, it would be a great edition. Makes sense to go in the pro. Has the graphics chops to handle it, unless intel's built in GPU can handle it. Guess we'll know soon.

Most Macs already have displays that meet the "retina" criteria, or are very close.

Not really. They are about par for the course. None of them are high resolution displays anymore. You get mediocre, and the option to pay more for slightly less mediocre. Nothing stunning though.
