Seriously, Windows 8 is far superior to vista and has improvements to win 7 as well.
It is worth having if you can counter microsoft's stupidity. Which is very possible!
I am even willing to bet they put the start menu back on laptops and desktops.
If not immediately then in the 1st 6 months with sp1.

Regardless, Windows 8 (not RT) on a Samsung slate, with docking station and keyboard, would be AWESOME!
