Aren't they afraid this will be confused with the IBM 6150 RT PC?

Mr. Mello, the first paragraph in your article probably is, sadly, news to some. Sinofsky didn't 'recently' write that blog post (Feb 9th?), at least not recently in terms of software development time-frames and news cycles. The only news here is the name change from Windows 8 to Windows RT.

Hah!!!!!! I must be one of the few living former RT users. We were a beta site for IBM. We had six of them locked up in a secret room for testing. Mediocre hardware, but I fell in love with Unix on that machine. I still use MKS Unix on all my Windows machines.

Windows 8 looks pathetic, especially for an OS that WILL run on a desktop, and should be accommodated as such. Not everyone wants to "move into the future", and that should be highly reconsidered. Myself will not be touching this OS with a pole. Better keep Windows 7 on shelves until Windows 9 comes out.
