Hey there... I am student of history and I have a lot books to read... Among them there are some in e-format, but I don't love to read it on desktop computer, so I am planning to get some tablet or e-book reader... Which you would recommend, that is cheap and eye-pleasant for reading???

What format are the e-books in? That might help decide which direct you take.

The various "e-ink" Kindles (i.e. everything except the Kindle Fire) work well in terms of readability. The problem is that they don't handle all e-book formats...and, while they do work with PDF files, they are not the best for PDFs.

A tablet (whether an iPad or Android based tablet) will tend to have the ability to handle more e-book formats.
