Yep. This way you go over your limit even faster and get more fees, paying higher rates than before.

NO cell company EVER doesn ANYTHING that will in any way reduce their revenue streams. Near as I can tell, everything they've done in the last ten years has only increased what we pay each month.

Nope. This has zero worth for me. We need Family Shared Data plans. In my original message, I called Verizon (collectively) morons. Apparently that's not allowed here, as my message never appeared. I have omitted that vitriol from this message. I've learned my lesson, and am now a changed man.

i think it could be a step in the right direction, depending on pricing and data allowances. I currently pat $95/mo in data for 3 iPhones and an iPad. I would love to see something like $80/8GB and save a little money every month.

It's a marketing thing.

It will be WAY easier to sell a consumer multiple 3G/4G devices if they can all go on one bill, versus a single 3G/4G 'hot spot' device that controls things that don't need individual subscriptions. And of course, once you have them all on the internet, versus a local network, selling them 'cloud' services at a premium becomes far easier, too.

And the more things they lock into one carrier (Verizon) the more difficult it becomes to disentangle one's self from the contract. You have three or four things that only work on Verizon's network, versus one.

The other carriers will certainly follow suit.

"AT&T offered unlimited data for the iPhone beginning in 2007, but switched gears in June 2010 after years of criticism for poor service linked to iPhone users hogging bandwidth. Verizon temporarily offered unlimited data to iPhone users in early 2011, changing to tiered data plans by July in the same year."
What is your obsession with Apple Crap? We all know that unlimited data plans were available for ALL smartphones, Android, Blackberry and apple. If your reporting were to be taken as gospel we would all have to conclude that these other systems do not even exist in this universe. When are you going to get over your APPLE UBER ALL mentality.
