These things will be in controlled airspace. Their pilots are kids playing video games. These drones need to be piloted by REAL PILOTS if they will be interacting with Controlled Airspace, Air Traffic Controllers, and Airliner Pilots. The danger to lives is not something we should ignore and say "golly jee how will this preserve our privacy" until we've said "golly jee how can we make sure they don't cause risk or harm to ANYONE." It's irresponsible and stupid to let non-licensed individuals PILOT this equipment in controlled airspace. This is not afghanistan.

Privacy concerns aside, these drones would be hazardous to the health and safety of anybody in the areas where they would be allowed to operate. Even with licensed pilots at the controls of these drones, their small size, their inability to see what might be coming from behind, present a danger to other aircraft similar to the hazards of motorcycles and pedestrians create for cars. The drones would be “below the threshold” of easy visibility and a private pilot in a small plane will find one the “hard way” eventually.

When you bring in the privacy matters and the constant manner of the “authorities” ABUSING whatever tech they have available to the detriment of the people, why should the use of these drones be any different?
