at least i'm not one of those. my tablet is merely a convenience when i need to check something real quick without having to turn on my computer, but it doesn't really make me happier or relaxed...just a tech tool.

A sample size of 2500 people out of millions of tablets sold is hardly definitive of anything...

I'd guess not, or he'd have known that populaton size is near enough irrelevant when determining the accuracy afforded by a given sample size. In fact a survey of 2,500 people gives a confidence interval of +-1.96% at the 95% confidence level; +-2.58% at 99%.
If I dispute one single point in a post, that should not be taken as an indication that I agree/disagree with any other point made by that poster or anyone else in the thread. Or anywhere else. Ever.

Most people do form a much stronger attachment to a toy instead of types of consumer products. Therein lies Microsoft's problem with its pandering to tablet users with it Windows-8 Operating System.

You can't compare something that's real with something that is in the future, so we won't know if your comment is nonsense or not until there is a Windows8 tablet on the market. Oh wait... I guess since there is currently no W8 tablet on the market, we already know the value of your comment.

I'll buy one. Only because I won't pay the price Apple wants.

Since they are mostly used for ''entertainment'' no wonder they make people ''relaxed and happy''

I tend to reserve emotions like love and hate for people. Tools are just tools. And I don't need or want a tablet.

Guess that means no love to tablets here.

I'm on my 2nd Nook going from Color to 16BG Tablet. Had a new I-Pad but sent it back to Apple. The 7" just fits my use better. Did the N2A SD card for full Android but dumped it to. Just like the way the Nook works for me. Use it daily to read email or surf. Only pick up my laptop for long email replies. Can even watch MLB games online. I didn't buy either as a e-reader just a handy mini pc of sorts. The tablet lets me watch what I couldn't with the Color version.

Jeff, it's odd but not unexpected that the you failed to note that the Viacom study addressed using tablets to watch TV compared to PCs and smart phones. What did I miss?

The longer I have had my tablet, the less I use it. For me, the novelty is quickly wearing off.
You want me to ditch my laptop for a touchscreen device? I'm listening.
You want me to ditch my laptop for a device with no file system, limited multitasking and limited productivity applications? Not a chance!

That study isn't as revealing as it should be. But, I'm among those who has fallen in lo e with tablets.
