Why would Apple users assume that they are the sheep?
I thought the ad said "everybody else".
So how long have fanbois been "everybody"?
It's called a complex!
To disagree without being disagreeable is the art of debate. Simply because one has a strong opinion, it does not necessarily make an alternative opinion less valid.

Good point waz.

I hadn't thought of it that way, but it's good to see that Samsung has gone from poking fun at Apple fans to making fun of "everybody" who doesn't use their product.

Way to go Samsung. Maybe your marketing people should pick up a copy of "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie.

I agree that was a smart move by Samsung. Now they need to learn the market is different than it was a year ago and they need to adjust their marketing and pricing accordingly. A year ago they could get away with selling an Android phone for like $200-$300 because AT&T and Verizon were the only ones with the iPhone and Verizon had just gotten it. Now however Sprint has it as well, and T-Mobile is expected to get it once the iPhone 5 comes out. And while there will be some people willing to pay the same price for Android as iPhone not enough to matter. Remember iPhone 4s made up for 50% of Verizon's sales in the first quarter of this year. Had Motorola sold the Droid RAZR for $149 it might've been able to challenge the iPhone 4s. Right now the only major carrier where Samsung can still get away with charging $200 or more for an Android phone is T-Mobile and even that is gonna change.

Samsung would make a hell of a lot more money making their top of the line Android phones $100 and putting them on all 4 major wireless carriers than try and compete with iPhone in price. Part of the reason Android tablets haven't sold well is because companies were trying to sell Android tablets at the same price as the iPad. But Amazon was able to show everyone that Android can compete against the iPad if it's sold at a substantially lower cost.

It's a nice visual treat, very very inexpensive to make but powerful and the music is great but what was the message?

Samsung Unpacked? Were they on a trip?

I have a first gen Galaxy S - the T-mobile Vibrant. I have been frustrated with it almost from the beginning. It is laggy, crashes, overheats, has bizarre battery issues (sometimes goes from charged to dead w/in minutes), and the GPS is highly unreliable. Worst of all, the PHONE is unreliable - sometimes it just won't make a call. Having seen many other Android phones since then I know this is not an Android issue - it's a Samsung/T-mobile issue (I also know this from the numerous posts on the T-mobile web site). I don't care how much press it gets, I will never buy another samsung phone, and I am counting the days 'til my contract expires and I can say bye-bye to T-mobile and get a smartphone that works, on a carrier that works.

Samsung Mobile Unpacked is their private event where they unveil new products. It is Samsung's equivalent to Apple's WWDC keynotes. This promo isn't really aimed at the public, but at the press, bloggers, etc., who will be covering the event.

Thanks. I wonder how many viewers understand Samsung Mobile Unpacked and if TV/Cable is the right venue for this ad.

A great commercial would be a Steve Wozniak look alike waiting online for a Galaxy III!

Oh, really? Well I am sure it is not up to your daily video-production standards, Mr. Spielberg, but that looked like one hell of a 'galactic' spot to produce. Why even the sheep were virtual!

The majority of images are provided free by NASA.gov or stock. The effects are pretty standard in programs like Final Cut (maybe even iMovie- wouldn't that be a delicious irony?), Premiere, and Avid Media Composer. The sheep video appears to be stock. It's a very nice visual but little if any principal photography and could be accomplished easily on the desktop. Low budget doesn't mean bad but Avatar it ain't.
