A bulleted list would be more useful than large paragraphs!

Lookout for iOS is no longer available. It is also nothing like the Android version. It doesn't protect iOS devices from malware nor does it have a scanner. The iOS version only told you thinks your iDevice already did for you

I would also like to recommend Fahrenheit free for iOS as it keeps the current weather showing in the notification bubble. It's a great addition to Weatherbug

For commuters that drive, I recommend Beat the Traffic. It's free, lets you specify your personal routes from door to door, and pushes alerts when there is traffic on your route that may delay your travel.

One important thing about the "scanner app" In the state of Michigan its illegal to have a police scanner running of any sort unless your media, police, fire or ambulance.

This may be a case in point for other states as well . So perhaps a warning should be issued with this app eh?

Lookout is crap. My gf accidentally downloaded it from an advertisement and it fubared her phone. It wouldn't unlock. Managed to break into it by somehow getting the browser to open and downloaded root uninstaller from the web and uninstalled it. I believe the help option is how I got the browser to open.

You realize running a blog in most states counts as being "media"? Where I live there are a couple different channels the police run on and a few are encrypted. You can listen to the unencrypted ones all you want. The other thing is, with a receiver being a passive device, how will they find you using one? Not trying to encourage breaking of the law, but checking the loopholes may show you their so big a blind drunk sailor could drive a house through them.
