Virtually every site, app and service offered here was a gigantic leak of you personal data and NONE OF IT was applicable to the computer.
You know, computers? Those things that started the Internet in the first place?
The best free software for people who like to actually be productive out there are:
Libreoffice
Firefox
Thunderbird
Gimp
Clementime
Audacity
Blender/Art of Illusion
Comodo Free Internet Security
Filezilla
Notepad+
Picasa 3
7-Zip
No links, of course. Just google them. You won't be disappointed.

Blender/Art of Illusion
Comodo Free Internet Security = FAIL Recommended AntiVirus: AntiVir Persona, AVG, Avast, Pand Cloud or MSE all with better malware protection and repair rates
Filezilla
Notepad+ = FAIL Recommended Notepad: PSPad which works better than most professional note pads offers everything you expect and more
Picasa 3
7-Zip = FAIL Recommended Archiver: IZArc has a lot better GUI and much simpler to use. Compression rate ZipGenius is better than 7-Zip. And PeaZip offers the best overall combo.
No links, of course. Just google them. You won't be disappointed.
The fact you recommended CIS which is only good as a firewall means you need to do more research before telling the editor they're wrong. You also have no business recommending products unless you like people getting a better chance of malware.

No need to even Google them. All of these programs are in the PCWorld downloads library, most of them with reviews to boot. Just use the search bar at PCWorld.com.
