Your criticism does not do justice for the "old interface": when Microsoft presented the Officce's 2007 ribbon interface, its missed the functionality and ease of the Win95 old one; now, if you are viewing the home and you want to view commands at review tab, you must to click the tab, instead of simply pointing and move the mouse. And you think that it is increasing productivity?
Also, if you have and old 15" monitor (and I have it) the ribbon uses too much area of the screen, and hide it and reopen it is very tedious.
And finally, the boring of the color scheme. When win 3.0 comes, it did posibble the use of many color. Now, I have to live with only three color schemes, no matter the color at rest of the OS.
So, I love the old interface.
