Hmm... I hope it will become available for Linux Kernel 3.5+. I'd like to have that in a PCI Express card as I'd be happy to replace my old 802.11g. It's got an Atheros chipset.

I have Time Warner Cable Wideband router and linksys dual band router 50+ mbps download 5 mbps upload I am happy.

I made the mistake of jumping on the 802.11n bandwagon too early. Many of the early buffalo routers had great initial reviews, but once you purchased them you found the routers were worse than the 802.11g equivalents, and the special PC/laptop cards just crashed your computer. It took years after the 802.11n devices were released for them to acheive anything within a factor of 2 of their promised performance. It will be equally many years before I consider 802.11ac. But it is nice to know what is coming down the line.

I can just see my future: all my friends and family buying a new AC router off a Geek Squad recommendation and then calling me when none of their older 2.4ghz devices can connect to it!
