Ive been trying to delete an att email account for almost a year. I previously had ATT DSL service but do not anymore. ATT/Yahoo has no up-to-date link on its site for deleting email. Its still receiving email and anything else I do in Yahoo ( Fantasy Baseball, Golf) uses the att account even though it is no longer linked to any of those games.

When going through ATT's email support, they give me a canned script. On April 26th 2012, I called in and was transferred twice, and the representative I spoke to gave me the incorrect URL two times in trying to delete the account.

Is it too much to ask to make it simple to remove an inactive account?

Any help in this endeavor would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, and it takes me to a page with this

You must call SBC Customer Care at 1-877-SBC-DSL5 in order to cancel your account.

That is the number where I got the runaround yesterday

At this point we're way above my pay grade. SBC is a tough nut to crack. I wish you luck.

SBC was bought out by AT&T in 2005, so this might be a pain... (I doubt that number works anymore)

Yes the reps I spoke to seemed quite clueless in how to delete the account.
