As hilarious as this is, if Samsung really did orchestrate it, then they went too far.
If not, though, kudos to those who did! :P

doesn't matter if samsung did orchestrate it or not they have right to be heard and protest against another company stealing there patents and/or ideas and if apple is stealing idea's from other company's then it need to be dealt with accordingly. If your not part of apple either be co-worker owner or inventor how do you know they didn't steal Samsung's idea or vi-versa other way around..... it was defiantly well rehearsed I personally hope apple get's the crap sued out them because they over-priced compromised piece of crap that has more glitches then my spelling.. lol

""We just want people to invent their own stuff."
So do those ripped off by Apple!
Bit rich: Apple calling the pot black!
To disagree without being disagreeable is the art of debate. Simply because one has a strong opinion, it does not necessarily make an alternative opinion less valid.

What needs to be done is a company that makes technology involving stolen patents should be forced to give all profits from those products to the company they stole the patent from.

Yes this means Android wouldn't be what it is today because Google wouldn't of stolen patents from Apple and Java to make Android. They'd of had to make Android from scratch.

I'm not sure how many patents Apple has stolen nor what would've happened if Apple didn't steal patents but I do know without patent stealing .. Android as everyone knows it, wouldn't exist.

Don't you love the fresh smell of desperation in the morning? What are they going to to next, put a Samsung store next to Apple? Is not like its going to help them recoup some of that 80% profit share Apple enjoys in the phone market!

This is music to my ears. I still can't believe the number of my friends who are dropping $500 bones on that POS oversized iPhone that Apple branded "iPad." I purchased a full 64-bit ASUS laptop with the i5 core processor and 8 GB memory for 550 bucks. iPad can't even run every website. what a farce

Looked more like a bleating herd than a mob.

Reminded me somewhat of the government organized extremist protests we see on news feeds from the middle east.

That video makes me really uneasy and I can't help but feel that the people who sanctioned it are embarking on a very, very dangerous path. Crowds wearing black shirts chanting slogans and waving signs bring to mind extremely painful memories in western culture.

Some might consider "Wake Up" to be a little bit too close to "Awake!" (look it up in Wikipedia) for it to be used as a corporate advertising slogan.

If Samsung is really behind this, it's proof again that they really, really need to fire their marketing department.

Pathetically, Samsung did that already. See: Samsung Opens Store Selling $2 Phones Right Next to iPhone 4S Lineup

Well done—be happy with what you bought. Unfortunately, what you bought wouldn't fit my requirements anywhere near as well as my iPad. However, I'm not the kind of obnoxious half-wit who thinks that personal preferences have universal weight. Your mileage may vary.

I wonder, didn't Palm first use a touch screen on a smart phone with application icons in a grid?

I love people like this. They always compare Apples to Oranges because comparing Apples to Apples never favors their argument. In this case he's comparing a laptop to an iPad because comparing a laptop to a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro wouldn't favor him. The Apple laptops would smoke his $550 laptop. If he's unwilling to pay $2000 for a laptop then he shouldn't even be here talking about Apple products.

This is no different than Android users unwilling to pay the same price for an iPhone. They try and justify owning Android over the iPhone by making excuses like Android has more users and Android is better because there's more freedom. But what it all boils down to is the fact they aren't willing to pay $200 or more for a device.

I don't even own an iPhone or a Mac but I really hate people who pretty much are trying to justify being cheap. If you're cheap your cheap, that's your business. But you shouldn't attack a company solely because you're unwilling to pay as much for that same type of product offered by the other company. Android users who pay $200 or more have every right to attack iPhone but not those unwilling to pay at least $200. And this guy has no business attacking Apple because it's obvious he's unwilling to pay the same price for a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro as he paid for his laptop.

Just to let everyone know. I own a $200 Android phone and own a $1000 desktop. Only Apple product I own is an iPod Touch 4G. So kinda hard to say I'm an Apple fanboy when I own an Android phone over an iPhone and I own a Windows PC over a Mac. The reason I go after people that insult Apple is because it's unfair. Being cheap is not a reason to attack a company.

Maybe this kind of goofy stuff works in other markets like fragrances and cosmetics but I don't see it carrying the day for Samsung here.

Quote

Samsung marketing executive Younghee Lee wants consumers to stop thinking about her company.

Instead, Lee wants consumers to start feeling something about Samsung and its products...

Lee, who worked for cosmetics brands L’Oreal and Lancome before joining Samsung four and a half years ago, said she wants consumers to love Samsung, to be obsessed with the company and its products...

Lee says that while some see cosmetics and technology as having nothing in common, there are actually more similarities than one might think.

And while Lee knows that the phone industry is different from selling makeup or soap, she says there is a technology component and an emotional component to each, and it is important to capture both.

“Very often, people believe cosmetics are a box of hopes or illusions,” Lee said. But in reality, they are based on science and innovation and technology.

And while there is perhaps a bit more high tech inside a smartphone, the science is just the starting point.

“Mobile can be a symbol of who you are,” she said. “A lot of people believe ‘what I have in my hands is me.’”

And Apple haters put down Cupertino for promoting their products on a superficial "cool" basis?

In my opinion Apple envisions and creates paradigm changing products that are incredibly well engineered and built. Samsung seems to be skipping vision and design and are more than happy to promote smoke and mirrors.

It's very obvious that Samsung paid for this expensive ( and poorly conceived) stunt.

Samsung is probably denying it because they are just too embarrassed about it (and their recent ads) backfiring, and making them look petty and immature.

Some of Samsung's viral videos have been very, very cool, like the Extreme Shepherding Video of 2009 http://www.telegraph...sensation.html. This attempt is sophomoric at best, in my opinion.

Younghee Lee's admissions must come as a quite a WAKE UP call to the all the self proclaimed "independent and free thinking" technology oriented consumers out there. It must be quite repugnant to them to find out that their purveyor of mobile devices is deliberately and overtly trying to manipulate them by appealing to their vanity.

By backing Younghee Lee it's clear that Samsung is more interested making people BELIEVE they're using great products than actually designing and making great products.

I'm increasingly convinced of the possibility that nobody at Samsung has fully functioning frontal lobes.

Ah, the smell of defeat and great desperation. A nice waste of energy, but, perhaps this will keep them occupied. I've tried android and iOS. I'll stick to iOS. Money talks, and consumers spoke with their wallets. Personally, I don't care what people buy. To each his own. However, to do something like this is almost walking on the religion propaganda line- "I'm this religion, so you should be it, too." Now, to have a look at my Apple stock and the money I've enjoyed over the past several years.
