I want to get a new laptop and I only play a few blizzard games and age of empires 3. I still need it to do work with excel and general school and work related stuff. I was looking at computers for gamers but I dont think I need all of that. I just want a computer that can run games and not get overloaded when I watching videos on youtube or playing games online. Anyone have suggestions?

Hi, welcome to the forums. I Bought a Gateway back in Dec for just light stuff with an i3 and 6 Gb of memory and the on board Intel HD3000 Graphics (integrated with the processor ). I installed Oblivion on that thing and it did fine on medium settings. WoW shouldn't be all that bad. Don't know about Diablo, but I don't think so.

The best suggestion here, is to find a machine running an AMD A6 or A8 processor, OR get an Intel i3 / i5 with a dedicated video card. Working from your requirements, you shouldn't need a powerful card. The Lenovo U400 is a great machine for light gaming and general use. It is very similar to a Mac Book pro 13, but only $730, and with dedicated graphics. Also worth mentioning is the Lenovo Z575. It is neither as powerful, or as nice looking, but it is $200 cheaper.
"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'" -- Isaac Asimov

Thanks for all the help. I figured I wouldn't need an alienware or anything but I didn't know what else to go with.

I would go with Lenovo Y570 or a Sager Laptop.

Windows 8 is a useless OS that Microsoft released that has many flaws and bugs. DO NOT USE IT. Use Windows XP or Windows 7.
