Tim Cook: Shut up. I prefer a diversity of products. And a laptop convertible does just that.

You'd be much better served to listen to Tim Cook that to simply dismiss his words out of hand.

Diversity in products is not a good in and of itself unless that diversity improves the product in some way.

I'm willing to let the market decide this question. For the past 12 years Microsoft has proven that a desktop interface is inappropriate for a tablet form factor. For the past two years, Apple has proven that a touch interface is ideal for a tablet form factor. Now you're telling us that a laptop convertible - which has never garnered any appreciable market share before - is going to become commercially viable?

I do have to agree with Tim Cook in this one, but I really don't want Windows 8 in a tablet (I'm talking about Metro). Choosing a very clean desktop in a tablet is who I am. I'd get me a 1280x720 10" tablet with Windows 7 and I'd be very happy with that.

Windows 8 on a tablet will probably not even include the Desktop side of the OS, not to mention a convertible operating system SOUNDS extremely Innovative and this may just turn out to me very Viable. So i think tim cook is offended big time. Tim cook isn't steve jobs, he needs to just simply shut up already.

Well I love Metro as a 7th grader and mr. Innovative is downing innovation much more better than the Ipad IOS that cant open up a .doc file without an expensive app.
