I think slacktivism only applies when the person doesn't actually do anything. If I'm appalled by Joseph Kony, so I share a video about him, nothing really changes except awareness of Kony. That is slacktivism. If I sign up to be an organ donor and make that public knowledge, sure, my organs aren't harvested immediately, but they will be after I die, so that isn't the definition of slacktivism.
Other than that, good article. Glad to see Facebook using its influence for good.

I'm trying imagine what marketers I'd see ads for once Facebook has this info in their database.
Meanwhile, given their user agreements, I can't help but feel that you're probably signing away ownership of your body and agreeing to let Facebook to tattoo their name on every organ donated...
