Several years ago I was one of many people around the globe who bought Front Page 2002 to help create all the various websites up until recently.
Front Page still serves me well when it comes to creating certain aspects to implant into a website. Case in point is tables and the marquee.

Well you can guess it Front Page is well rather old and HTML has moved up to version five. So I wonder If perhaps there is something I can do to squeeze more life out of Front Page 2002 (yes I have the latest service pack number three.)


I am quite comfortable downloading and uninstalling software from this website and others. Thus I am not afraid to try new stuff.
I tried my hand at Power Point and can not get a grip on it for some reason; I thought I could make the change but I just like the feel of using html coding.

Any advice sure would be nice on this one.

We've been tossing around the same question in my household for a while, although I'm using Microsoft Expression Web, the upgrade from Frontpage 2003 (that my wife still likes to use). The real question is, what do you need it for? A simple web page to promote yourself or a product doesn't need much more, but if you're planning a big store front (like Amazon) with a huge back end database you're going to need something newer and more powerful than what you're running now (or get REALLY good at coding, which I'm not).

Fyi, Microsoft Office Sharepoint Designer 2007 is just like frontpage, maybe a little more up to date, and FREE. (note: DON'T get sharepoint designer 2010, as it's limited to websites hosted on sharepoint servers)

Edit: I just designed this page, with a video embeded with html5, using sharepoint designer 2007 and a little html... http://dl.dropbox.co...0site/index.htm
It's a bit annoying that it doesn't recognize the <video> tag, and the video doesn't show up in the preview, but it's not a big deal. That said, for professional websites, you might want something else.

I choose to take a chance on your suggestion and downloaded Sharepoiint. Of course I went thereafter and made sure I got all the updates before I even opened it up. Needless to say i was a little overwhelmed by all the goodies. One thing Idid notice was that it did not have html 5 in it but I think version four will do just as well.

Thanks for the suggestion I am always on the lookout to move foreward and try different software.

I have used Frontpage that is in Microsoft Office XP with Frontpage its still usable other wise I use Dreamweaver Studio MX you can code with html or choose to use with templates or work without seeing the code and "just see what happens" when you try different things.

I have also used (with Frontpage) something named Live Motion witch I still have its a very good program and I am glad I still have these programs, for now I am not coding homesites anymore but I will not get rid of my programs you'll never know
