The 3.4-inch-thick S III has a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display???

typo!!!! 3.4 inch thick or .34 thick???

Good catch, that's a typo indeed. 0.34 inch (or 8.6mm) is the thickness (depth) of the product. I don't think there's any 3.4i rectilinear dimension on the outside of the phone. Also good to know samsung wins the thickness battle in spite of the monstrous hardware specs and bigger battery.

Galaxy Nexus is still superior imo by the fact that if you get it from Google's Play store (GSM versions). you have a phone that works on both att and tmobile usa's 3g/4g and most world 3g networks too! :) and its vanilla android and has NFC enabled out of the box! google wallet rules, bought some mcds w/my phone yesterday ;)

Something innovating that apple doesn't have is in this phone now, their some true difference.

Gorgeous to as always, My Old Samsung Glaxy S Vibrant is still Flipping gorgeous, the battery life isn't entirely Perfect, but it's Fast, flash works great, Love it.

All we need to know is - When is Samsung going to offer back-up service for their televisions and air-con units. World-wide class actions get ignored. Samsung is renowned for using sub-standard
components and failing to help those of us with problems - there are hundreds of thousands who will never buy Samsung products again - be warned.

I am still happy with my S2. I still don't understand what a processor has to do with compatibility on a data network. Processors in computers don't affect my internet or bluetooth connection. Sounds like BS to me.

That's because the WiFi radio in your much larger computer is a separate component whereas with smartphones the radio is integral with the processor. Right now they don't make the right quad core-US LTE combination, which is why the One X uses the older dual core processor with the correct LTE radio.

So to me it sounds like the BS is that you couldn't bother to do a little basic research.

I don't think u did enough research yourself either, the dual core processor in One X is snapdragon s4, I don't see how u categorize it as an "older dual core processor".

No I think that is right. You measure a screen diagonally. So you would be looking at the hypotenuse of a triangle. It is the same way you measure your TV.

Epic fail Safiyah. No dimension of this phone measures 3.4". It is a typo.

That would seriously suck if the quad core wasn't available in the US.
why? is there a major difference between 300 and 325 horsepower?

No....that would be.... WIDE.

Come on guys, it's not that difficult. The PHONE is 0.34" thick and the screen is 4.8" WIDE. I think the point he was trying to make is that even though it has a large screen, the phone is still relatively slim, especially combined with a 2100mA battery.

Why are we getting excited or upset about this phone from this article? Since the writer have not seen the Galaxy III. He says and I quote "I have yet to see the Galaxy SIII up close and personal", so all he is doing is writing what a brochure say and making his own opinion.

Sounds like a great phone but I have an S2 with a dual core processor and have to charge my phone twice a day, about 4-5 hours between charges just so it won't completely die on me. It's the price of having so much technology and hardware crammed in a sleek tiny package. I can't imagine how horrible the battery life on the S3 would be with a quadcore, jeez I bet it would be atrocious.

Stanley, when I first got my original Galaxy S, I had to charge it every day. With each succeeding revision of the Android OS, the time has increased to where I can get at least 2 days out of a charge - with lighter usage, I get 3 days between charges. I am betting on the same thing happening on this SIII (my upgrade date is May 9 so I will easily be able to upgrade to the SIII when they become available.

Phone looks pretty sweet, Im wondering how SIRI and S Voice can operate without licensing VoiceAssist technology, its been around far longer than either of these two services. Should be interesting to see how voice control wars take shape

no, but there would be a big difference between a v4 and a v8 engine.

The real reason it is being sold in the US is Apple trying to keep a hold on their dwindling market share by claiming some patent infringement. HTC is facing the same problem.
Patent law was once meant to foster innovation and is now just used to hamper access to new products
