So what you are saying is.....some time in the future like half a decade maybe...or more...some one might build a tablet and it might be successful because of some feature or solution it may provide...

Interesting.

So you're going to believe NPD after their report that stated the iPhone only had 27% smartphone marketshare in the USA was shown to be complete bollocks?

With actual sales figures from the carriers themselves were released showing that 63% of the 3 top carrier's smartphone sales (80% of the market) were iPhones, it became patently obvious that NPD's use of consumer surveys for their data is completely flawed.

If NPD can't even count current sales correctly, what credibility do they have whatsoever for predicting what Marketshare figures will be like a year, let alone 5 years in the future?

I wish that the forum software would display the author of the article in the grid. Mello's articles are most often a regurgitation of inaccurate and unsupported claims from absolute hacks and organizations like NPD. Over the months I have come to realize that anything written by Mello is not woth the time.

Dear Mr Mello junior, shipments do not equal sales and no matter how hard you try to spin it shipments will never equal sals and "reporting" shipments as sales is jbad journalism. There are other compelling stories out there but you will have to actually dig to get them.

Five years ago in May, 2007, how many iOS and Android phones did they predict there would be? Oh yeah, that would be ZERO.

This field is changing far too fast for anyone to be making reliable five year predictions.
