I think I'll give it a try on my Netbook. I have 12.04 on there right now, but as nice as it is it's a little slow for my tastes. Something a little bit more lightweight would be good.

while I like Xfce, (I run it on 2 machines) I am always hard pressed to call it lightweight. My experience and all of the comparisons I see, show it only to be marginally lighter than Gnome. When I need light weight. I use e-17, Lxde,openbox and such

I use Bodhi Linux that uses the Enlightenment desktop, so I'm good. I'd recommend LXDE or Enlightenment over XFCE if you're looking for lightweight.
