Sprint, is a joke. I purchased a 4G phone almost 2 years ago, and was promised that it would be in my area within 6 months. As a customer, we trust what the sales staff say, but the truth is, you CANNOT trust them. They either lie or simply do NOT know the particulars of their company's plans.
I have seen absolutely NO addition of 4G since my purchase and in the areas where it is, the service is barely faster than the original 3G experience.
In short: it's EASY to offer unlimited 4G, when the coverage is nearly ZERO.

At least SPRINT is working on getting there LTE network up and running and aren't trying to price gouch customers on LTE devices like Verizon. All that glitters isn't gold Verizon claims so much but aren't giving what they claim. Their network is OVERRATED and OVERPRICED. Stick with Sprint don't do what I did leave sprint then go to Verizon you will regret it..http://www.pcworld.com/article/255068/3g4g_performance_map_data_speeds_for_atandt_sprint_tmobile_and_verizon.html

Overratted and overpriced? I guess that depends on your perspective. There are millions of people out there that live in Verizon service areas that don't have Sprint service available. Verizon is building a network based on it working everywhere. That costs money to build and maintain. Cell towers aren't free, nor is the fiber (or copper) feeding them. Verizon owns many, many, MANY more towers than Sprint ever will. So can you really say it is that expensive if you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, in need, and ONLY one particular brand of service available?

That's quite a glowing testimonial WaldoJim. Maybe Verizon should change its advertising campaign to say: "Verizon. Our service could SAVE YOUR LIFE." The real problem is that there are so many places that do offer only one or two services--an anti-competitive market condition that Verizon has worked hard to maintain. --Mark

Where I lived in Ohio - it was the ONLY choice. Call it how you will. Verizon is willing to build towers in places most companies won't. ATT has even gone so far as to admit, that 85% of the population was easy to cover, and that was enough to keep them happy. So they have no concern over the last 15% - which makes up the largest physical landmass. Something Verizon has made a point of covering. Blame Verizon, or blame ATT. I don't care. In either event, it costs more to maintain more towers.

edit: Now that I think about it, Ohio isn't the only place I have experienced this. I had my own episode of the "lost calls" just outside of Houston - in Old Town (I think it what it was called). They had an entire city block of small shops. In one German store, I had to call my parents about a special order item when the lady warned me that I would have to go to the end of the block to get any reception. She was quite surprised to see my Verizon phone work!

i wanted the nexus 4 together with t-mobile's $30/month prepaid unlimited data until i figured out they won't allow tethering/hotspot even if i wanted to pay the extra $15/month charge. it seems that wireless broadband could only replace my comcast cable broadband only on a smartphone.

Is that not exactly what Sprint is doing. They are making claims that are a stretch of any imagination. There claim to unlimited data is like going to an all you can eat buffet and when you get there all there is to eat is peanuts. They are replacing the two peanuts on the table that there is a long line of people waiting to get too. However by the time you get through the line to get your peanut, it is now closing time, or you just get tired of standing in line and decide to go somewhere else to eat, like the wifi cafe'

Further, whats the argument. Sprint is owned by a foreign company now. They may not even get a say so in what happens with the company in the near future.
