Sounds like AT&T is trying to stack the deck in their favor, with no basis in fact. The reason 50% of tablets are being sold with no cellular access is because 50% of the buyers DON'T WANT IT.

I already use my phone as a hotspot so a WifI tab makes sense to me. One bill for multiple devises having internet access.

That last paragraph said it all. Very few people want to pay separate data fees for multiple devices. I just bought an iPad this weekend, I couldn't justify spending an extra $120 for the ability to pay another $30 a month.

I'm already paying for data I'm not using, I can't do it twice a month.

While your at it, where's my roll over data? Where's my family plan data?

How stupid are we all that we are okay with paying (at least me) $30 for "unlimited" that gets throttled after 3gb while for $30 my ipad could have gotten a separate 3gb that can't be shared. Ridiculous.

Sorry, but I have no interest in a 3G/4G tablet.

It's ironic too that at a time when faster 4g speeds become the norm, the phone companies have all had worked it out 2 years ago by slowly introducing the capped data plans.

Anyone really buy the idea that this was to save the average consumer money?

I wouldn't buy a 3G or 4G tablet, just because the data plans are like a ball and chain. Now way to play that game.
