The only problem is that the Google app drains the crap out of your battery.

It's the right way to do things. The iOS experience and the Android experience are SUPPOSED to be different, and Google is trying to lure people into using G+. The Android users already tend to use it a fair bit (even if only for the automatic photo upload) and so the iOS folks are the ones who need coaxing.

As an Android user and general Google lover, I'd be annoyed with this except that I'd forgotten Google+ ever existed.

I wasn't aware my battery had crap in it, but now that I know, I want to drain it out as quickly as possible.:)
