I don't usually have much support for the ACLU because they are a lot more liberal than I. However, in this case, I stand alongside California Dems and the ACLU ... because it's the correct, dare I say, the right thing to do.

What we need is an amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Right to Privacy. An explanation of what that means would follow, obviously. Some circumstances would nullify that right but others would guarantee it. This is serious stuff moving forward in our nation. As is our personal identity and what responsibility the government and other institutions have in securing it. Why neither have seriously been looked at is beyond me. This always reminds me that states, that's right-- STATES passed laws determining when it was acceptable to install a camera in someone's home without their knowledge, and what rights the homeowner had to the footage captured. What determined breaking and entering, etc. played into this. That should have been dealt with by the federal government as a basic right of all Americans to protect their privacy, but it was not. At least with these issues, "states' rights" should mean nothing. They go to the core of our identity and security and our civil rights. And another-- (tumble, kablam, splat)-- I fell off my soapbox!

The constitution needs NO AMENDMENTS! It was written to address the concerns of the time as well as future concerns, primarily to avoid TYRANNY. Furthermore, nobody should have to PASS BILLS to fight this. Those employers should all be ARRESTED. What next, the key to your house??
