In a corporate setting, don't you think security is a concern for using such a service? I'm not sure how comfortable one would be sending work related emails outside the company domain.

That's an excellent point; you'd definitely want to clear this with your IT department if you work in a corporate environment.

It's a lot easier if you are using Outlook. Just click on the tool bar the Follow-UP Flag and input the date/time for a reminder pop-up. One can even move the eMail to the deleted folder and it will remind BUT so long as that folder's contents are not deleted before the reminder time.

And here I thought that was what 'calendar' was for. Apps, Google's Microsoft's, Apple's, everyone else's.

Gosh, I just click on that little calendar icon, and it offers to add an 'event'.

Though just 'marking' messages so they stay on top seems to work for me as a consistent habit. Since I use gmail web UI, if I use the little 'star' checkbox, it will stay on top of the mail on any computer I log onto gmail with. Instant 'To Do' list based on email, no additional parties to bounce my messages off of.
