Actually, the doodle IS more in line with how Anna probably wanted the holiday to be celebrated: with innocence and simple sentiments that come right from the heart. You don't have to be a mother to see that. Anna's story sounds very sad but her intentions aren't invalidated because she never married or had children. And she wasn't 'soured' for having those opinions..she was right! Didn't appreciate the underhanded shade thrown at her in this article. Or an apparent diss at women who don't get married or have children.

I still remember my first Mother's Day. Now I'm a grandmother of 5, and always recognize my daughter and daughter in law on this special day...I love seeing them grow as women as they experience the joy of motherhood:)As I grow older, I more fully appreciate my own mother and mother in law as I look at the impact of their parenting on successive generations of our family.

Sorry if you are offended. I certainly didn't mean to disrespect women who don't marry or have children. I was just summing her Wikipedia story.
Enjoy your day.
