A newspaper in Spain confirms that the country's "green economy" policies — the model for the Obama administration's "green jobs" efforts — have been a disaster: expensive, ineffective, and unworkable. Microsoft should be careful.

@dennis, the policy is not wrong.Its the way it was implemented.Any policy can be screwed up if implemented improperly.

Kudos to MS for this effort of theirs.

"carbon offsets"

This is honestly a joke. All MS (or any other company for that matter) has to do to be "carbon neutral" is pay a nice little fee every year.

Soon, it's gonna be.. "excuse me.. your waste emissions seem to be going up.." "Nope, we buy 'carbon offsets' so we're carbon neutral".

If any company is serious, they should do it without carbon offsets. A company with very little waste is much better than one that wastes more, but buys carbon offsets.
