Yes. It's no different, it has to be a file first obviously, just like with the other programs mentioned, but after that all you have to do is add it. Like the first poster can't really we the issue there at all.

Also ReyVarela the whole point is to ditch iTunes. Using it to import CDs or rip them defeats the purpose of getting rid of iTunes.
I've FormatFactory the best converter to mobile devices. With Freemake Video Converter for those with x64 systems.

yes, you can just as easily import DVD's to itunes as any other way... once you've ripped it, which you have to do with any other method, you simply drag and drop it... ripping a DVD is the time consuming part, and actually a little silly, because it will cost you more time than simply buying it on line... unless your time is worth about $2.50 an hour...
it appears this author believes handbrake is some sort of music organizing app too???? hello??? this statement is really off the wall: "For such videos, the only hindrance to adding them to you iOS device is iTunes"??? what in the world? everytime i plug in my iOS device, every single picture and movie comes through fine? and with one click for that matter????
was handbrake doing it faster? because doing a side by side shows that the actual plugging in the device and actually importing will show you a whole world of stupidity if you think handbrake did a better job from an iOS device or to an iOS device, or a faster job....
this original author's comments that adding a track "isn't so easy".... is ridiculous.... to say the least... it is as if he has never used iTunes.... you'd have to really work hard to "not" make it easy to do...
which makes the rest of his comments just as suspect...
what is particularly "challenged" about the whole idea of this article, is no matter what, you still (if using a desktop) need to use iTunes to manage your ios apps... so this person is basically advocating making your life twice to three times as difficult, by adding more programs than you need... all for the sake of writing an article trying to convince us that iTunes is bad? at what? dragging your music around? .... and worse, this person is saying adding programs somehow replaces itunes like handbrake... what? handbrake does not organize your music? or videos for that matter?
"importing a track" in iTunes, is as simply as dragging and dropping... what are these other programs doing? moving music with your mind?
it is if this person has been in the windows world so long, that they have no idea about dragging and dropping????
i doubt seriously this person ever even used iTunes....

ITunes is garbage... Well that's kinda harsh... I will never install it on my Windows PCs and refuse to use it on my mac... I hate its controlling and the way it indexes music... It could learn a thing or two from windows media player... Yes, windows media player is far better...

I know there are folks who may be smarter than iTunes and want to control multimedia and more power to them. That's not me.

this person is guaranteed to not have an iOS device... for those who do have an iOS device, every single one of them needs iTunes, (if they want to do stuff with it on the desktop) because that is the only way to manage your apps for that iOS device...
so basically this article is written for all iOS device owners, who do not own iOS devices.... those are the only people who do not use iTunes to manage their apps and would be silly to use another program that isn't nearly as integrated to manage their music, along side it... to simply have two programs...
you can tell how silly this author is, by his statement, "the only way to get album artwork, is to have an Apple ID"..... please click off the number of iOS device owners out of the 300 million or so, who do not have a free Apple ID that takes about 10 seconds to get???? i bet the numbers fit next to the number of fingers you have.... and those are the people how haven't yet pulled the iOS device out of their boxes...

Yes, of course. The article mentions using Handbrake to rip the DVDs. Simply import the ripped DVD into iTunes and it's available to go to any iOS device, including streaming to the Apple TV. I would agree with ReyVarlela... I don't see what the issue is.
