Many people come here and find the help they need just by searching.
Be aware that no one here is an employee of PCW, except for Lincoln Specter (that I know of). That means the forums get looked at, and replied to, as our time and expertise permits.
Perhaps if someone out there would like to start paying us (you, maybe?), then the forums could be monitored 24/7/365. Hope you have deep pockets.

Sure, I'd be willing to get paid to post on the forums!

There's also the fact that most modern PCs have less problems than before.

It would depend on where you are looking. The PCWorld bot is constantly putting out stuff as are the various contributing authors. As for computer help issues, we are not the only forums dealing with that stuff for one thing. I am also afraid that there are some other aspects of that, that may be putting people off as well. It isn't like it was for sure. I have been working on that in as far as getting responsible posts. Unfortunately, you do get those that feel that have to post to everythingwhether or not it is helpful or not and that is what I am trying to curtail as much as possible. Mostly to prevent misinformation and or incomplete information. It does get frustrating. We do have some good knowledgeable people around here, and some who think they are, but still have a ways to go, although, to their credit, they are good in some areas.

As I remember, back when I was on the PCMag forums, they moved the forum link on the homepage to a much less obvious location and switched to all-digital distribution at around the same time, and the forum traffic plummeted. As a result, many regulars (including me) left.
