I've noticed that certain characters, such as " and ' show up strangely if they're in quotes in an article's comments. From the forums, they appear fine. Also, they appear fine in the original comment (from the forums and article).

Take a look:

Fyi, it doesn't matter if I set my browser's encoding to auto-select (Unicode UTF-8), Western (ISO-8859-1), or Western (Windows-1252). I get the same issue in Firefox too (again, it doesn't matter what encoding I use). Perhaps you guys can take a look at this?

Seeing as how you didn't give us the link for that particular post, it will have to be a guess. I have seen this before and it comes from someone using a translator, not a bug.

Edit: I don't think any translators were involved here. Again, the original post appeared just fine, but not the quote, and only from the article's view, not the forums.

I just checked that post, both the original and the quote and both are fine. Must be something on your end with scripting.

That's bizarre - I also have the problem in IE9. (You use MSN Explorer, which probably uses IE's rendering engine, right?) Are you sure there's no issue there?

Also, can anyone else check this out?

None what so ever. The only place I see it is in the attachments you submitted. Yeah, I think MSN Explorer Uses IE's rendering engine. I think it may be a Hybrid of sorts.

I also see it in IE6 and Firefox 3.6. Can you post a screenshot? (of the article view)

Say, why use MSN Explorer anyway? I think that might be ending support (it says development status: inactive on wikipedia).

Coastie, that looks like the forums, which display fine for me. I'm talking about the article view. (http://www.pcworld.c..._plans_faq.html)
