I downloaded Oracle VM Virtualbox to install different operating systems. I am trying to download WIndows 98 and keep getting an error when I am running the OS. My processor has virtualization enabled, and the VM has enough memory. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this error?

Thanks!

I've read that if you give the VM more than 1GB memory, Windows 98 will fail to start. Try setting it to 256MB and see if it works.

Edit: I got Win98SE to boot with 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB of ram, but got the same error as you when I tried 2GB. (I'm using VMware Workstation 8 btw.)

Edit: Clarified my wording a little.

Ok, thanks! I changed it to 256 and it worked.
