It really depends on what kind of contract you get, what you're willing to pay for. My Virgin Atlantic will do texting but I have it turned off as they want to charge ME for incoming texts and that depletes my account when the idiot spammers can get $5. from them for sending text to me without my permission. That option is not functioning so I get to keep my cash for making calls.
