Takeout is a good start, but leaves lots out.

After a takeover, we needed to get all our Google Docs out of Google and into Sharepoint.

Google takeout put every file in the root, completely ignoring the folder structure. Fortunately, we found an app (SyncDocs) that migrated the data, keeping folder fidelity.

Google Drive is a simple way to retrieve uploaded files while maintaining folder fidelity.

I'd really like Takeout for Google Voice to download my calls into CSV or spreadsheet, instead of individual HTML. Ooma and other services have figured out how to do it. It's a database, after all.

Can someone tell me why I cant just delete all my personal information from Google or Facebook? It's not that I really want to but the fact that you cant seems a little disturbing.

Noted with interest that Google Takeout lists Services that I've never used.

Its at least a good start comparing to others.

And for deletion of things it require Google Dashboard. Its takeout baby...why are you expecting data removal by this service?

In is unfortunate how terribly one sided this story is. Try and review what it would be like to liberate your data from virtually any other cloud service provider!! (or even the data you give to your CPA).

It is so easy to criticize and find fault when something exists --- but many others don't even have a system or process of getting your data back at all. The article may have factual accuracy in certain regard but also represents an extreme fundamental bias.

Well again another FUD article funded by Google's competitor nothing less. How about writing an article on how users could delete their information in Facebook, MSN Live and Google if you are really concern about your user's privacy?

Well again another FUD article ...

Still looking for at least one of fear, doubt, and uncertainty. Care to at least give us a hint?

We look forward to your presenting proof of this.

Have you tried reading any of the many articles that address that?

And, did someone force you to read this one?

Why is this article flawed for being narrowly focused?

By what line of reasoning is it the case that every article must examine everything in the widest possible scope?
