Great job, Asus! Hope all other follow your footsteps!
So 2 USB 3.0 ports, hope it comes with an SD card slot like the previous Zenbook (unlike Dell's XPS 13), and finally an IPS display! Well, the resolution may be too high, I would rather take something like 1,600 x 900 for a small size, but it's definitely a step in the right direction!
And the illuminated keyboard, and the keys pretty good designed, is also a plus (the latest laptops from HP with the stupid small arrow keys is a disaster).
Way to go!

Doesn't look like they include a touch display. Not a good investment, IMHO, with Win8 Metro around the corner

Here is a quick tip "I didn't have time to test the battery life" <- This is all we care about. Hold off on the review until you get back to us with that =)

An improved resolution sounds good to me, but I'm shocked they didn't come up with a better trackpad.
The original UX31 had one of the worst clickpads ever (in this price range). The keyboard was slightly sub-par.
I thought, by now they would have figured out at least the mouse...
Hey Asus, next time throw in a decent trackpad! Otherwise, this will be like a mac mini with a display: that is, bring your own mouse and keyboard.
Except, that's precisely what people don't want to do when they're buying something this slim and portable.
By the way, the original UX31 also had "Bang & Olufsen" audio, so that doesn't count as an upgrade :-)

Trust me, The trackpad issues were fixed with a simple driver update. Although it is very disappointing Asus shipped the laptop with the crap drivers, they did fix the issue. I've have the original UX31 since January and it is a fantastic computer - once I updated the trackpad drivers that is.
Honestly, the UX31 is so good that I am thinking about upgrading to the UX31A when it comes out.

Biggest thing wrong with the orginal ux21/31 is lack of 5ghz wireless N. can you confirm if there is a 5ghz antenna in the ux31a? If so I'm sold

Certainly agree about the need for a better wireless N antenna, and does the SD card still only enter the unit 1/2 way?

Anyone knows if the 4GB of RAM are up-gradable? Thanks and nice review
