If you're going to use the book as a tutorial, simply google each lesson they present. You will find source code and examples online.
In fact, that's the key to learning programming in any language. Google it. There are always a 1001 howtos for every language, in every language.
For instance, here's a 'Dummies' tutorial on Java, online. Found with a search: java dummies.
