Any more than this site does?

Only the 'nerds' are really paying attention to this kind of news.
Normal people find out about the 'new' Apple a month after they buy the 'old' one. The lucky ones bought it with enough time to run it back and exchange it. The rest shrug and vow to do better 'next time', and then don't.
The chatter is endless. There will always be something better, 'over the horizon', but if you're in a buying mood NOW, you'll discover deferring your purchase for the 'next thing' becomes an endless exercise.
The same goes for Android phones which always promise something new just over the horizon. On the plus side for this, the next new thing is usually weeks away, since everyone has 'something new'. On the minus side, your buyer's remorse will be fast-paced, too, and the next, next new thing is always announced before the 'next thing' you were waiting for arrives.
Am I disappointed that I bought my new 27" iMac in March? Not especially. It was a big improvement over the 2009 iMac, and I knew the new iMacs would be coming 'any day now' for months.

Are you kidding me? This is a magnanimous gift from Apple if it is true. To have a bigger screen is a long over due. And of course, many people will just at the chance to own one (two for the greedy chumps). I for one have never owned an Apple iPhone, but with this great upgrade, I will seriously be in line (at AT&T of course)for one. My only one wish is to make the screen at least 5 inches like the Samsung Note.

Anyone hoping for a larger screen, given Apple's track record, it'll probably look the same but with better internals.

Ok, so Apple should just say flat out, "no new iphones for 5 years."
That would really help boost their sales, eh?

Even if the sales slow down for the old, they'll just hold onto them and sell them for nearly the same price, after the new thing comes out.

Bragging about Apple's sales numbers for the 4S is really getting old. Apple's 1st quarter which is nearly everyone elses' last quarter, falls during the biggest shopping season of the year. You can expect hgh sales numbers right around XMAS. But they dont remain high. They drop very fast right after Jan/Feb. Both ATT and VZW report that right after the New Year the sales start to fall and at the second quarter for APple goes forward which is everyone elses' first quarter, the sales fall about 20%. ATT I believe one report they sold nearly 6M iPhone in a single quarter. The quarter after the numbers fell to 4M. The biggest of those first sales are mostly upgraders. if you dont pre-order, you can't even get a device for several weeks. This is a rare problem with most other devices, because not everyone is buyign the most popular item on the other platform all the time, and yes there are some exceptions like the Lumia 900 which is selling like crazy everywhere.
Rumor don't really hurt phone sales. Its really good that even tho oher phones have rumors, we get an idea what the device will be like fairly quickly, unlike Apple devices where we dont get a real heads up until they are about to go onsale. Apple has a strong cult following. It doesn't even matter if they rumor any features or leak any phones. 77% of the early adopters will be previous owners anyways.
