Where do you even get this information?? Lua STARTED on the Linux platform. Also, it did NOT "have its origins in Brazil's computing community." - it was quite clearly a University-sanctioned project carried out by the Computer Graphics Technology Group at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Please get your facts straight.
PS: nmap uses a subset of lua as its own scripting language. They are intrinsically tied together.

I won't dispute the first part but, ummm, where is Rio de Janiero? Wouldn't a group of computing individuals at a school in Brazil be considered part of the Brazil's computing community?
